We all know the struggle: summer is just 9 Mondays away, and we all are stressing out. Not everyone, but the ones who want to take THE Instagram picture of the summer. In this blog I am more than happy to show you what I eat to stay in shape, because being a model requires that you take care of your body. Let us dig in on those meals, ladies and gents! Because Summer, my body is ready!

A couple of greens a day, keeps the Doc away.

As a young girl, I must admit I hated eating all things that were green or too healthy. That is the past now, because let me tell you: I LOVE some good green smoothies in the morning, or my plate filled with 80% vegetables or even as a snack.

I will tell you my secret to stay in shape when I have a big shoot coming. For a whole week, starting 7 days before the shoot, I drink a green smoothie as breakfast. It contains everything every child hates: vegetables and fruit. The green, but delicious, poison is prepared with following ingredients:

  • Handful of parsley
  • A whole celery
  • Half a cucumber
  • Handful of spinach
  • Add one type of fruit: banana, apple, pineapple, kiwi.
  • Add water, not too much.

I even made a Tiktok making one!

This is my favourite go-to recipe if you have been a bad girl in the weekend or on vacation. This detox smoothie is not only going to make you feel better but is also so beneficial for your skin. It helps with digestion and gives you a very full feeling for hours.

Besides breakfast, lunch is for me the most important meal of the day. I try to eat as many vegetables as possible during the day. If you are someone who does not eat a lot of vegetables, just try and eat something where you can find protein and fill your plate 50/50. My go-to lunch contains:

  • Fish: shrimps, salmon, codfish/ meat: chicken, red meat (once per two weeks)
  • 3 types of veggies: broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, tomato, bok choy

Hydratate that body

Water. That is the only thing you should be drinking. I would be lying if I said I don’t like a good cold glass of Coca Cola or any soft drink, but I do this maybe once or twice a week. It is not good for your body and if your body does not welcome it like it should, it gives you breakouts such as acne for example.

Have you heard you already are a SNACK?

O man, o man. Snack time is the best time and I hope you all agree with me. Nothing like eating some nuts while watching a movie or following online class. Nuts are also very beneficial for your health and totally recommend this as a go-to snack!

The last meal

You all have probably heard that rumour that if you eat after 7 PM, you will become fat. Lies and more lies. I don’t like going to bed with an empty stomach. Mostly I work out in the evening and therefor it is very important you recharge your body.

Even though, I do have to say I don’t eat a big plate, that’s not what I do. I enjoy a granola bowl with some yoghurt and fruit. Sometimes I make a wrap and that is what I am giving you the recipe for.

  • 1 or 2 whole grain wrap
  • Dressing of your choosing: I like light vinaigrette
  • Salad
  • Tomato
  • Cucumber on top
  • Meat of fish

Just writing about it makes me hungy!
